Things I have made

I have had a few requests for pictures of things I'm working on to jump start the creative process.

First was a simple necklace. Cut a tie-dyed t-shirt into strips, braid, twist and wrap. Not my favorite but kind of fun.

Two repurposed/reconfigured t-shirts for Sarah:

This last one still needs some finishing touches. I need to pull the strands and arrange the loops. Also looking for just the right button or pin for the top loop attachments.

And here is Ken's sarong. The pictures don't capture how the silk just glows in the sun.

And just for grins the disaster of the first sarong. I can probably save it, but right now it's hiding in shame in oops box.

This I made on Tuesday, May 8.

I'm a knitter!

I've always loved turquoise and brown together. This is a very sheer chiffon sarong/scarf. I'm not as happy with how it takes the dye as I am the thicker silk. But this is cheaper to play with.

This is chiffon also, but I like the effect.

This is a scarf. Crumpled then gradually put into dye. I would put a section into the bath, go knit two rows of my grandson's blanket, then put some more of the scarf in the bath, knit two more rows. So I got a beautiful scarf and 12 rows knit at the same time!

This is the blanket I'm working on for Jett. It's a just under 1/2 done in this picture.

Folded accordion style on the length, then banded in even sections. First two sections in bath 5 minutes, then add next two, then next etc. Once all done, added lots of water to dye to get light purple, then removed rubber bands and put scarf back in bath for 30 seconds. Just enough for the white to get a tinge of purple.

Jett's blanket is all done!
